United in Marriage

Paul Spenser's and Kira Engholm's wedding was held in
Linkoping, Sweden Saturday evening, February 24th. There were around 60-70 people attending, with the majority from Kira's large family. There were also a number of friends from the immediate area of Mjolby, which is some 150 miles south of Stockholm. Added to this there was a small representation from England and the Isle of Man, including Paul's parents, his Godmother and other friends from over the years. John and Tina Jewell were there and he performed the wedding ceremony.During the ceremony there were two hymns, both of which are in the UCG hymnal but also familiar to the Swedes. The music for these was played by two cousins of Kira's and the husband of one of them. They are accomplished musicians who play for local orchestras. During the reception a group from the UK who specialize in Celtic music and ballads provided some special entertainment.
Earlier on the Sabbath John Jewell held a Bible study at Kira's home. There were 6 in attendance. Paul and Kira, Paul Howard, Solweig Hammar and the Jewells.
The couple went on honeymoon in Estonia. They will live on the Isle of Man. Paul Spenser is the Chairman of the UCG Council on the Isle of Man.
