Mali Allaoua had surgery last Wednesday to remove her thyroid, which was later determined to be cancerous. After coming out of surgery and returning to her hospital room, she had to be returned for an emergency hour-long operation to stop unexpected bleeding. Both procedures were complicated by the presence of scar tissue from an operation 30 years ago. She will have thyroid cancer radiation treatment in about four weeks, and the prospects for recovery are good. Mali is the mother of UCG-Germany editorial assistant, Jesmina Allaoua.
