A Day of Production
December 7, 2005

Cincinnati, Ohio

Today was a most interesting day for me. I was part of the production of United Church of God's new television program Beyond Today.  Two programs were taped. The first was about why God allows suffering. It was hosted by Gary Petty with Melvin Rhodes and me as the first discussion panel. The second program was again hosted by Gary Petty with  Todd Carey and Dick Thompson on the panel. The subject was why were you born.

The morning began with a 9 am to noon planning session. We had already studied questions that were to be asked and in this meeting refined  the  flow of discussion. Once on the set we had no notes and spoke extemporaneously. At 1 pm, the studio work began. It filled up with technical people with various responsibilities behind the consoles, teleprompter and cameras.  In similar fashion as I had witnessed in Portland, Oregon with Tomorrow television, there was an excitement among all the volunteers who had part in a greater mission.

Then we taped three eight minute segments each discussing two or there questions.  It went very smoothly and was an exhilarating experience to be a part of preaching the Gospel in this manner.

Below are photos of the planning and studio work with a few shots of the almost finished product.
